WE ARE ROCKHARZ – A FESTIVAL FOR EVERYONE!

We at ROCKHARZ attach great importance to being a festival for ALL. For this reason, it is particularly important for us to have created structures that make it possible for people with disabilities to celebrate at our festival. Our aim is to provide the best possible support for everyone whose stay involves special efforts. As in 2023 and 2024, we are delighted to be able to take another big step in this direction this year.

The most important thing first: at the e-mail address inklusion@rockharz.com you can reach our inclusion team before and during the festival, who will be happy to take care of your concerns, discuss your needs and try to offer solutions for a wide range of requirements. We are constantly working to expand our services for people with disabilities and to create opportunities where there is a need. The offers and services listed here are continuously improved and supplemented. Feel free to check back often or write to us!

Offers for people with disabilities:

  • We provide an inclusion camp for people with disabilities and their accompanying persons on our campsite, where a power supply is also available if required.
  • There is a separate reception desk for access, e.g. for issuing festival wristbands and answering questions of all kinds, which is staffed around the clock.
  • The Lebenshilfe Braunschweig team organizes a nursing service there with 24-hour care for all types of care – including intensive care. In addition to a nursing service manager, a curative education nurse and an intensive care nurse, the team in 2024 included 4 curative education nurses, 13 generalist trainees from the BPZ training association, 3 trained nursing staff and 2 administrative staff at reception as well as 10 volunteers; in other words, a team of 35 people who were there with all their hearts.
  • The inclusion camp has a care container with a ceiling hoist and shower stretcher.
  • Discarded conveyor belts from the mining industry serve as wheelchair paths and also as orientation for visually impaired people in the camp. In 2024, our guests from the DBSV (German Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired) were very impressed and were able to move autonomously from their camp to the sanitary facilities, for example. We will be working closely with the DBSV in the future.
  • We have an on-site medical supply store that provides a mobile aid rental and repair service for wheelchairs and medical aids of all kinds, for example.
  • We use signal colors to mark various focal points and potential tripping hazards, as well as special entrance areas for people with visual impairments.
  • Menus are displayed at many stands as QR codes for scanning and reproduction in text-to-speech programs.
  • Barrier-free flush toilets and shower containers are just as much a matter of course for us as barrier-free platforms for every stage and free access to the VIP area for people with disabilities and their companions.
  • Wheelchair-accessible crossing bridges have been installed at various focal points on the festival site
  • On request, we issue guests with the so-called sunflower badge: A badge with the RHZ sunflower symbol as an identification mark for people with invisible disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Our staff are appropriately trained in dealing with people who bear this symbol.
  • We offer barrier-free access to the infield, merch and the signing sessions

Short Info

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES – Admission
If you are a person with a disability and have a B (need for constant accompaniment) and / or H (helplessness) on your disabled person’s pass, you can bring an accompanying person with you free of charge. As a disabled person you will need a valid festival ticket. If you have any questions, please contact inklusion@rockharz.com. We would like to point out that our event site is nevertheless impassable.

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES – Campsite

  • Our specially equipped inclusion camp is available for groups of up to 5 people. For larger groups of up to 10 people, we offer an area opposite the of the inclusion camp.
  • Groups of more than 10 people can book a regular, reserved area on Campground R in the store. Caravans may be used in all these areas. For all other areas, please see our advance notice: https://www.rockharz-festival.com/vorabinfo-anreise-und-camping
  • If you would like to use the inclusion camp or the alternative area for up to 10 people, please let us know so that we have a better basis for planning the size and requirements of the campsite. Furthermore, we need proof of the disability/restriction, e.g. a disabled person’s pass or certificate.
  • If you want to book a reserved area with your friends outside the inclusion camp, please indicate that a disabled person is part of the group. Please remember to provide proof. We will then schedule you as close as possible to the entrance of the infield.

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES – Support
If you are dependent on support or have care needs, you can contact us directly at inklusion@rockharz.com. We will be happy to discuss your individual case with you.
