ADVANCE INFORMATION ON ARRIVAL AND CAMPING

Feb 20th, 2025 | von |

–> SMALLER GROUP SIZES POSSIBLE,
–> CHANGES FOR CARAVAN TEAMS,
–> ARRIVAL ON MONDAYS;
–> what will change at the campsite from 2025

After months of preparation, close coordination with the authorities and with the involvement of our guest advisory board, we have developed a new arrival concept along with some changes to the camping areas. The main focus was on avoiding the kind of congestion scenarios we have experienced from time to time in recent years. We believe that we have developed a forward-looking and well thought-out concept and hope that it will meet with approval and be able to ensure smooth arrival and departure traffic. Before we explain and present everything in detail in the coming weeks and, as usual, put the various additional camping services and reservation options on sale, we would like to briefly outline the most important changes in advance:

Reduction in minimum group sizes for group reservations (CAMPGROUND R)

Due to optimizations in the ordering and marking process, we will be able to offer the reservation of group areas from group sizes of 10 people instead of 15 people as before. However, the reservation process and the location of these areas will remain the same. As a small additional benefit, we have increased the space per person by one square meter. In practice, this is roughly equivalent to the space required for a 3x3m pavilion or a normal car per group of 10.

Separate camping area for caravan teams with the option of arriving on Mondays

In recent years, we have identified the ever-increasing number of caravan combinations as one of the main factors contributing to the formation of traffic jams. More and larger caravans simply need more space on the road as well as more time in order to be admitted to the normal campsite or to maneuver. We are therefore regulating this area from this year onwards. There will therefore be a camping area (the standard camping area) which caravans will NOT be allowed to enter and which will have a separate access road. This area will be exclusively available to those who are NOT traveling with a caravan (vehicle + caravan).

As compensation, there will be a separate camping area (caravan park) to which caravans will be directed and which must be reserved in advance. This will be possible when booking the additional camping services. In this separate area, a limited number of vehicles will be able to arrive on the Monday before the festival, thus relieving the main arrival days of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Important: With the “CARAVAN & FRIENDS” option, we offer groups of friends the opportunity to join their friends in a caravan with their tents without having a caravan themselves. However, this option must be booked in advance and is limited.

Important: The restriction on accessibility with caravans only applies to the standard campsite. The reserved group areas (Campground R) can still be used by caravans. Likewise – of course – the pitches with electricity connections in this area. This therefore remains unchanged. However, Monday arrivals are still NOT possible on the Standard Camping and Campground R areas. As before, only early arrival on Tuesday is possible here.

We will come back to you with more details in the next two to three weeks. Then everything will be bookable and you will see that not much will change. Only those arriving with caravans will find some changes as described above.

Sincerely, Your ROCKHARZ team
