On March 25, we provided the Ballenstedt airfield, where ROCKHARZ has been held since 2009, with a publicly accessible defibrillator. This was installed in an easily accessible location in the immediate vicinity of the tower.
For us, this donation is more than just a symbolic gesture, as we know from our own painful experience how important the rapid provision of and access to medical aids can be in the fight for life and death. Minutes often make the difference here.
In the case of our long-time team member and friend Dirk Lehberger, who died on June 15, 2023 as a result of a sudden cardiac arrest, the timely availability of a defibrillator could have been life-saving.
We therefore feel a great need to do our part and provide year-round access to such a device on the airfield grounds.
A memorial plaque, which has been attached to the defibrillator, commemorates Dirk, who sadly left us far too early.
